your daily disturbance

More shocking then the ad itself, is the fact that it's is going to be airing on National TV. If this commercial doesn't scare you away from drugs...then you were probably already high on Meth when you watched it.

This was directed by Darren Aronofsky, same dude who directed "Requiem for a Dream" and "Black Swam". It's effective to say the least.

launch day

Today is a the launch of our new Old Navy campaign, Funnovations Inc. Realize I've fallen off the map for the last 2 months...but this is the reason why. We've been shooting & editing in LA for weeks now and starting today, we'll be rolling out the new spots so stay tuned to your boob tube :)

creepy cool

disturbing at first but don't give up...watch it all the way through.

music madness

A few weeks ago I made the last minute decision to jet up to San Francisco for the Outside Lands music fest. I was already in LA for work and had a few days off so thought I'd make an adventure of it and squeeze in some live music and good friends. The line up included Arcade Fire, Muse, Girl Talk, The Black Keys (they're amazing!), MGMT, and much much more. We were in heaven. Oh...and forgot to mention, we had free access to the wine tent at the festival so you can imagine the fun that ensued...

catch up!

Work has consumed my life a bit and I always manage to fall off the face of the earth when I'm working so I apologize to my 3 followers for not keeping up :) But life in LA isn't something I should complain about. The weather in Santa Monica is amazing, you can't beat the view, the surfing is awesome, and the celebrity sightings aren't so bad. So far on the checklist we have Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson, Tom Ford, Suzanne Summers, Martin Short, Jon Krasinski, Emily Blunt, Selma Hayak, David Dechoveney (or however you spell that), and most importantly....Patty from "Millionaire Matchmaker". They've only managed to remind me that I probably work twice as hard (well at least twice as hard as Martin Short) and make about 1/30th salary. Yikes. LA is a scene of it's own.

I had a good break in MI though. Traveled home for the 4th and met my old roommates, Alison and Suz, in Charlevoix for a weekend of fun in the sun. They dropped me off in Roscommon, MI on the way back down to Detroit and I managed to spend a good couple days with the Miner & Lafferty familes. By the time I made my way to Brighton, the neighborhood block was ready to party. We had a blast over at the Carlson's and managed to stay up till sunrise talking and drinking about nothing of importance. I miss home.

Now I'm back in LA and back in the grind. I'll be back in Boulder come September and can't wait to catch up on all the summer fun. I owe that city about 15 hikes.

Other than that, life is same old same old. Looking forward to the summer weddings ahead and shenanigans that are bound to follow...

xoxo

*this pic was taken in the AM moments before a surf lesson. Again, can't complain too much about LA's view.

happy father's day

I'm about 3,000 miles away from the best dad in the world but this internet deal has given me yet another platform to make him uncomfortable as I find another way to wish him "happy father's day". Pestering him with phone calls just wasn't enough today, now I need to publicly embarrass him by bragging about how great he is. When I was young I viewed my dad as a human jungle gym with endless piggy back rides and bear hugs. As I grew into my teen's i found him to be the scariest person alive and tip toed around him in effort to avoid the "tight lip and finger point yell" every time i found myself in trouble. Once I graduated into my college years i discovered that he was the best friend to have around. he's full of inappropriate humor, he shares my love of a cold beer in the afternoon, and he's always there to listen, even when it comes to break up's, anxiety, or any annoying, chick related issue. He's there. I wish i was in MI today so I could watch him squirm as I recite compliments and praise his way but this will have to do. Love you dad, happy father's day.
