A few weeks ago, Jason and I headed up to Vail for a night with my cousin Jennifer and her family for some weekend skiing and relaxation. Once we arrived at the hotel, we headed across the street to a local pizza joint for a few slices and a couple beers. Upon arrival, Sloane and Griffin discovered the 6 foot, shiny, addicting arcade game that I often refer to as "the claw". Griffin was the first victim of the evening and as he slid his first quarter into the coin slot, it was quickly followed by a "tink tink" sound as it fell into the oblivion of lost change that too many kids have wasted in their efforts to beat "the claw".
Before our pizza had even arrived at the table, we were down $10 and the claw had yet to award us with the grand prize, a rubber ball. All this work for a rubber ball. Our own competitive efforts proved to be costly as our wallets continued shrinking and the rubber ball suddenly turned to gold in all our eyes. Griffin apparently proved to be the only intelligent one amongst the group and after a few tries at the "claw", he gave up and moved over to the next arcade game on the row. Madden Football. A dude's dream.
Next in line for "the claw"? Up walks my 8 year old, badass cousin, Sloane. Tink tink went her quarter. What happened next you ask? Did she beat "the claw"? Welp, click the video below and find out.
